IHTF – Plenary Session – Speaker announcement

Proud to announce our first keynote speaker for the #PlenarySession of In-House Tax Forum on November 26:

Peter De Keyzer

Economist πŸ“Š, entrepreneur πŸ’Ό and opinion maker ✍️. Founder and Managing Partner of Growth Inc. Author of Growth Makes You Happy and co-author of Belgium 2040.

A voice that refuses the easy pessimism of the moment β€” and insists that Flanders, Belgium and Europe can still choose growth. πŸ“ˆ 🌍

His message for our plenary:

Radical ambition for more growth and prosperity πŸš€πŸ”₯

Europe and Belgium are at a historic turning point. The old certainties of geopolitical stability, cheap energy and free protection are gone for good. Rising public debt, ageing populations, war and trade conflicts are putting our prosperity under severe pressure ⚠️.

At the same time, the rapid rise of AI and global power shifts are redrawing the economic rules of the game at high speed ⚑.

If Flanders, Belgium and Europe want to grow again, reinvent themselves and win again, there is no shortcut. We do not need more subsidies, more rules, or more distrust of those who take risks and create value.

What we do need are free markets that actually work. Innovation that is rewarded rather than feared or treated with suspicion from the outset.

Individual entrepreneurship that is given the space to fail β€” and to succeed.

Above all, we need optimism, a can-do mentality, and a fundamentally hopeful belief in the future.

That is not a side conversation for in-house tax. Tax sits at the intersection of competitiveness, investment, risk-taking and the rules that either reward value creation β€” or slow it down. Peter’s keynote will set the wider frame for the discussions that follow.
